This position is responsible for controlling the flow of supplier materials and components into JVISs manufacturing facility. The primary means of controlling the flow is through the use of a mainframe MRP and Kanban releasing system. The release analyst uses the system to control inventory levels, planning and shipping releases, and ship frequencies.
Work requires independent and team problem solving and decision making skills with general direction provided on operating objectives and broad guidance from corporate strategy and goals. Work is moderately complex and difficult in character and requires strong PC and mainframe skills in addition to strong interpersonal skills. Work is fast-paced and requires strong analytical skills and broad business knowledge in addition to technical materials management and planning skills. Decisions have a strong impact on floor space requirements and dollars invested in inventory.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute incoming raw materials and purchased parts plan to support JVIS production and inventory objectives.
Where the mainframe MRP system is used to procure materials, plan, control, and adjust float parameters to assure accurate supplier planning and shipping releases. Must be able o understand and resolve issues within this system.
Where manual ordering systems are used, assure that the systems are properly planned, controlled, and communicated to the supplier to assure proper inventory levels. All manual systems must be maintained with accurate data. New ordering systems may need to be developed as required.
Where visual or Kanban systems are used, assure that the systems are properly planned, effected personnel and suppliers are adequately trained, and communicate orders to suppliers. All Kanban systems
must be maintained with accurate data, reflecting changes in programs as they arise.
Initiate actions to recover from purchased material supply disruptions and shortages. Must be able to communicate these issues to appropriate personnel and make best cost resolutions.
Must be aware of program life cycles. Making sure to control inventory on all programs balancing out and the procuring of material for incoming or ramp up programs.
Monitor and develop plans to improve supplier delivery performance. All suppliers compliant with JVIS requirements including EDI capable.
Reconcile supplier shipping and JVIS receiving records. Responsible for the entering of all incoming receipts. Monitor and resolve supplier and receiving issues.
Responsible for maintaining, requisitioning, and ordering of all non-production supplies. This would include the creating of Purchase Orders.
Facilitate transition of purchased material from the buying activity to the logistics activity. Set up appropriate releasing and ordering systems.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the automotive industry is required. Minimum of 3 years experience is preferred but the position can be considered entry-level.
Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity to work on moderate to long-term assignments that are broad in nature. Strong supervisory, project management, and leadership skills are necessary to prioritize, coordinate, and manage personnel and task conflicts.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and represent the company in a professional manner when performing job duties. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to exercise influence at various levels and functions.
Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, present information, etc.
Working knowledge of MS office software applications.
Must be able to work independently and achieve results under little or no supervision.
React to various causes of supply chain and manufacturing interruptions and implement countermeasures to protect customer delivery requirements. Coordinate delivery deadlines with Production and Shipping personnel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described hereafter are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hand to finger dexterity, handle or feel and reach with arms. Frequently required to talk or hear, walk, stoop, and sit at computer workstation. Employee must be able to read color, adjust focus and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described hereafter are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is normally working in a cubicle or in meeting rooms but frequently must be on the shop/warehouse floor exposed to heavy equipment, lift trucks, and other manufacturing equipment.
