The area of responsibility shall include directly supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Job Developers, and the oversight and supervision of all client services.
This includes recruiting, interviewing, developing all department staff, scheduling, and providing disciplinary feedback, recommendation for termination, when necessary, all communications with contracting agencies, clients/guardians/families, attending person centered planning meetings, conducting intake meetings, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is present and submitted timely.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Uphold The Center Star Standards (Service, Team, Attitude, Reliability).
Treat all clients and staff with dignity and respect.
Implement Person-Centered Planning principles department wide.
Supervise and provide constructive feedback to DSPs and Job Developers.
Support staff in fostering client independence and skills development.
Schedule departmental staff and client appointments, including transportation when needed.
Collect and report program outcomes data, including satisfaction surveys.
Ensure timely completion of staff and client action forms.
Serve as a resource for service planning and implementation.
Oversee delivery of department services to meet regulatory standards.
Identify and address training needs for staff.
Recruit, interview, and develop staff; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
Conduct monthly staff meetings and participate in departmental audits.
Manage external partner relationships professionally.
Review activity records, timesheets, and expense reports for accuracy.
Be available during program hours to address concerns.
Ensure proper use of interventions and manage emergencies according to policy.
Monitor staff performance and conduct regular reviews.
Coordinate employer training for staff at job sites.
Advocate for client preferences and choices.
Maintain confidentiality of client information and facility operations.
Facilitate intakes and person-centered plans.
Ensure completion of program entry documentation for each client.
Evaluate client progress and participate in regular client meetings.
Communicate regularly with Program Director and report concerns promptly.
Conduct vocational evaluations and job readiness classes monthly.
Supervise Job Developers in job placement and follow-up services.
Prepare and submit final reports to Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS).
Maintain positive relationships with MRS and other stakeholders.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent years of experience) in Human Services or related field Excellent organizational and leadership abilities Outstanding communication and people skills Knowledge of industry's legal rules and guidelines Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Retain a working cell phone for emergencies.
