Daily activities include, but are not limited to, assisting with personal care needs, serving meals and snacks, assisting with daily scheduled activities and other projects within the program, assisting passengers with disabilities, with wheelchair loading and unloading, and securing the wheelchair with the proper restraint procedure.
A Program Assistant must be able to carry out the daily routine at the program site with minimum supervision and treat all participants with dignity and respect at all times.
As a Program Assistant/Driver you must:
Have a high school diploma or GED Demonstrate experience and interest in working with individuals affected by Alzheimer?s Disease, or other related dementias, cognitive impairments, and physical disabilities.
Must be responsible and work well with others from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to complete multiple duties and tasks efficiently without being prompted.
Be willing to complete and display competency in all necessary training requirements related to your position.
Special Conditions of Employment Negative TB risk assessment upon hire as required by The Avenue policy.
Valid Chauffer?s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
Reliable transportation to work and from work.
Undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
Undergo a LIEN check with no recent felony convictions and no abuse/neglect convictions.
Undergo a Central Registry background check for absence of child abuse and neglect registration.
Is not listed on the Office of Inspector General Exclusion list.
Hours are 7 AM- 4 PM Full Time
